Retreat/Special Event Chaperone

 

Time Commitment: Two to Seven Days depending on event

 

Job Duties: 

Drive youth to the retreat location.

Watch over the youth to make sure they are abiding by the group covenant.

Participate in all activities. (Some retreats have special adult training sessions built into the program.)

If the church van was used, the Chaperone is responsible for refueling the van and giving the receipt to the Youth and Family Minister.

 

Qualifications:

Available, Authentic, and Affirming

Faith focused and centered in God

Interest in youth and youth culture

Good listening skills and attentiveness to youth

Open to developing relationships with youth

Must be 21 years of age or older

Ability to handle disciplinary situations appropriately

Punctual

Successful completion of a background check

 

Responsible for Supervising: The youth

Driver

 

Time Commitment: A few minutes to a few hours

 

Job Duties:

To drive youth to and from events safely

Arrive on time

Submit copy of license and proof of insurance to church office 7 days prior to event.

If the church van was used, the Driver is responsible for refueling the van and giving the receipt to the Youth and Family Minister.  (Reimbursement will take about a week.)

 

Qualifications:

Available, Authentic, and Affirming

Faith focused and centered in God

Interest in youth and youth culture

Good listening skills and attentiveness to youth

Open to developing relationships with youth

Must be 21 years of age or older

Ability to handle disciplinary situations appropriately

Good driving record

Punctual

Successful completion of a background check

 

Responsible for Supervising: The youth

 

Faith Lutheran Youth Ministry Mission Statement: To enable youth to grow as Christians by providing an encouraging and Christ-centered environment.

Young Adult Mentor

 

Time Commitment: At least one year (5 hours per month)

 

Job Duties:

To develop a mentoring relationship with a young person.

Send letters to the assigned youth person on a monthly basis or more.

Send a care package to the young person two times a year or more.

Pray for the young person.

Be a positive role model

 

Job Qualifications:

Available, Authentic, and Affirming

Faith focused and centered in God

Good listening skills and attentiveness to youth

Open to developing relationships with youth

Can be any age

Successful completion of a background check
