Jr. High Youth Night Chaperone
Jr. High Night at the Youth House is an event for 6th, 7th and 8th grade youth on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. During this time, youth hang out with their friends. At 7 p.m., the group gathers together to pray, to share the highs and lows for the week and discuss a Bible passage. This is called Talk Time. This is an outreach program and may attract youth who are not Christians.
Time Commitment: Two hours, one Tuesday a month for at least a six month period of time.
Job Duties: Arrive at the Youth House shortly before 6:00 p.m. and open the Youth House Set Snacks out for the youth to eat and make cool-aid. Spend time playing games and talking to the youth. Facilitate/Participate in Talk Time. The Youth and Family Minister will plan this. Help the youth clean up before going home. Lock all the doors and shut off the lights of the Youth House before leaving.
Qualifications: Available, Authentic, and Affirming Faith focused and centered in God Interest in youth and youth culture Good listening skills and attentiveness to youth Open to developing relationships with youth Must be 21 years of age or older Punctual Successful completion of a background check
