Youth and Family Minister

                                                                                          

Time Commitment: Salaried full-time position.  40 hours per week average

 

Job Duties:

Directs and coordinates all Faith Lutheran Youth Programs

Attends monthly Youth Ministry Board meetings

Coordinates with the Pastor and Youth and Family Ministry Board Director on activities and events programmed to build young people into persons centered in Christ.

Develops and builds relationships with youth, between interested adults and youth, and between the community and Faith’s youth.

Encourages youth to become involved through worship participation and youth program activities.

Nurtures spiritual growth in youth

Participates in youth activities, worship, and Sunday School.

Serves as additional support resource to youth, parents, and the church

Responsible for scheduling youth activities on the church calendar

Prepares information for youth budget.

Provides accounting of expenditures from the budget.

Recruits congregational support as needed.

Coordinates with other ministry boards for additional areas of youth involvement.

Faith focused and centered in God

Interest in youth and youth culture

Organization skills

Good listening skills and attentiveness to youth

Open to developing relationships with youth

Communication skills

Must be 21 years of age or older

Punctual

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to delegate.

Previous involvement in youth organizations preferred

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Successful completion of a background check.

 

Responsible to Supervise:  K123 Coordinator, 456 Coordinator, Jr. Luther League Coordinator, CREDO Sponsor, College and Careers Sponsor, Adult Helpers and Mentors
